• The Louvre
The Louvre museum, former residence of French kings, has been one of the largest museums in the world for the last two centuries. Its collections are spread between 8 departments: Asian antiquities, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, Paintings, Sculptures, Objets d’art, Islamic art and Graphic arts from the Middle Ages to 1848. The third phase of the Grand Louvre project has been completed, with new rooms dedicated to Italian-Spanish paintings and Egyptian antiquities opened.

• The Rodin museum
Works and collections by the sculptor Auguste Rodin, presented in a hotel which is typical of the XVIIIth century. Architects: Jacques Gabriel (1729-1731) and Jean Auber. Works by Camille Claudel. Some of the master’s great works are exhibited (the Thinker, the Bourgeois de Calais).

• The Musee d’Orsay
Known the world over for its fine collection of Impressionist art, the Musee d’Orsay is also the museum which holds all of the artistic creations from the Western world from 1848 to 1914. Its collection has all forms of expression, from painting to architecture, to sculpture, decorative arts and photography.
Its beauty will dazzle you: a train station in the style of a palace, opened for a the World Fair in 1900.
